Celcom Broadband - Fair Usage Policy

As all our customers are bound by the Fair Usage Policy (as attached), the management has decided to enforce this policy by:

- Sending Out SMS notifications to the users who exceeded the 5GB data volume per month allocation.
- Reducing the speed of only the users who exceeded 5GB data volume per month. For Broadband Advance (HSDPA) users, reduction from 3.6 Mbps to 128kbs and Broadband Basic (3G) users, reduction from 384 kbps to 64kbps.
- On the first day of every month, the speed reduction will be removed and the affected customers will enjoy their subscribed speed again until they breach the 5GB data volume again.

What applications make my usage high?

It is most likely to affect you if you use:
- Peer to peer (p2p) file-sharing software (eg BitTorrent, eMule, p2p TV).
- Peer to peer TV, such as Joost, Sky Anytime, BBC iPlayer, or 4oD.
- Video on demand and video streaming services such as TV & films from iTunes Store.
- Youtube videos.
- Virus, spamming and spywares.
